The BoldHeartMama desires to enjoy living out the choices that she’s made for herself and for her family. She is a relentless learner: curious, inquisitive, and open to the possibilities of her life and of the human condition. She understands that there isn't one right way—she asks questions that dig deeper to make sense of it all and to find her own path.

She pays attention to and nurtures whatever it is she really cares about, letting go of the rest (for now) knowing she can't do and be everything all at once. She embraces her imperfections in favor of "good enough"—her imperfect self, her imperfect home, her imperfect mothering, her imperfect desires—and she never stops evolving as a woman and mother. She is a BoldHeart, authentic and true to herself.

The BoldHeartMama knows there is only this one life and she's all in. She is present and engaged and making things happen. Her intuition is her guide. She seeks to be inspired and relies on her creativity and her resourcefulness to solve the big and little challenges that she and her family face together as they navigate their relationships and their world.

The BoldHeartMama is willing to take calculated risks to make her biggest dreams come true. She is living out her BoldHeart in the moment, making small moves and taking little steps that add up, and she's cultivating a good life for herself and her family in the process. Read More!

Color Inspired by Nature

The banks of the James river are one of my very favorite places to spend time. We have so many photos of our adventures in and around the River, wouldn't it be cool to use some of them to inspire an interior color palette for our new house? Here are a few photos from today.

  1. Yes! I especially love the first and last color palate. Is there a program you used to create these?

    1. I like the first one too. I don't know that any of these are perfect, but it's fun to consider different monochromatic looks from nature. Especially if the palette comes from a meaningful place or memory. I would like to pull some inspiration from the lot itself, of course!

Here are a few apps that are fun to play with if you want to give it a try:

If I had photoshop I could color-pick but for now these other programs will have to do!

  2. When I painted my sunroom a color from the outdoors it really brought aseamless feel to the room. It sort of brings the outdoors in and feels very calming and natural. I love the way the palettes picked up the colors in your photos. You'll have fun with this at your new house!

  3. You may want to check out the Earth's Color Collection fan deck from YOLO Colorhouse. You can see it virtually on their Pinterest page - YOLO was founded by artists and they developed all the paint colors in this fan deck from nature inspiration, not unlike the images you have in this post. The other thing that is awesome about this paint deck is that all of the colors are designed to go together so you can't make a bad color combo choice!

    1. Yes, i love this! They are beautiful, and I just picked out a palette from their pinterest boards. You have so many great resources.
